Hi everyone! My name is Ariana Stanton and I am a sophomore here at URI majoring in English and Secondary Education. Although I currently live in Burrillville, Rhode Island, I was born in the Berkshires, Massachusetts and am happy to say that I still live there during the summer and selected weeks throughout the winter. Despite my overall love for Rhode Island, and the beaches with colossal waves that tend to devourer me like a tiny popcorn kernel, I am always overjoyed to spend weeks of the summer relaxing by the lake that abuts my home in the Berkshires. When I am not spending my time by the lake or ocean, I am busy at work balancing two jobs. During the summer I worked an average of seventeen hours a day Friday through Monday, and eight hours a day Tuesday through Thursday, working doubles at the local Bridgido’s Market Bakery as well as waitressing at Gator’s Pub. I am still working at Gator’s Pub on the weekends during the school year so if anyone is ever in North Smithfield, RI feel free to stop in and say hello!!
Back in high school, before I entered the crazy world of college, I was involved in just about everything that a student could balance in his/her schedule. Besides being a three-sport, varsity athlete in cross-country, basketball, and outdoor track, I was class president for all four years of high school, a member of the Community Service Club, and Student Council. Besides being involved at my school, I also took four ballet, pointe, and hip-hop dance classes at night during the week to satisfy my never ending desire to dance. Now that I am in college, my schedule only has room for studying, a few dance classes a week, and leisurely running to keep myself sane.
Other than that, I am a pretty average person who loves interacting with others. I always love meeting new people, making new friends, and just having a good time. Three aspects of life that I believe everyone should take time for in their busy schedules are the abilities to love something/someone unconditionally, laugh like you will never laugh again, and lastly, the ability to dream because without dreams no one would ever accomplish anything spectacular.
